The HD 2900XT Info Thread - Page 39

Someone want to loan me a 8800GTS 640MB? I want to run my own tests.

I see where the 2900 beats it and where it fails miserably, I own a few of the games where it fails miserably and yet it's runs fine higher resolutions about the 20-30 fps they're saying it does... just very odd to me.

Can't wait to run 7.8 driver once my PC is fixed up and running good. Just glad that I choose HD 2900XT.

For benchmarking? Too bad I can't overclock since I'm stuck with stock cooler.

Yep sure can. Intel has some great coolers. I wouldn't run it at 4GHz or anything like that
I think I may test my OC again in my games to see how much of a difference it makes.....
On the reviews that don't add up...I feel the same way! We both run 1920*1080, so our cards are getting loaded heavily. I can run all of my games with all of the eye candy I want/need and them some.
The [H]OCP reviews are full of crap, and I simply can't believe what they say anymore.

Here is what we found out, with Full Dynamic Lighting enabled the game is simply unplayable on the ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT at 1280x1024 and 1600x1200. We experienced an average of 15 FPS at 1600x1200 in the game
I mean this is just a flat out lie. I play the game TOTALLY MAXED OUT, except for AA. I set it to 2x HQ adaptive in the CCC, and I get excellent FPS at my res...with HDR shaders. I don't see what they did to get these results.

http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?...VudGh1c2lhc3Q=
Again, the apples to apples comparison is simply not true. I get NOWHERE NEAR those numbers with 2X quality adaptive AA enabled as well....I don't think that one driver release affected it that much, but I dunno.

Hey CD how far did you OC those things? I'm a little worried about not having enough power to push em both to where my one is now.
