Did you hook up the 6-pin pci-e power cable to the video card?
Is it in the right PCI-E slot. I know I have to have mine in the 1st one on my evga board...

i cant put it in the 1st pci-e slot becuz of the hard drive and the sound card above it, it just wont fit, this beast is like a foot long and 2.5in thick... im pretty sure everything is plugged in fine becuz all fans work and the sli standby led is on on the mobo. ill try to put it in the 1st pci-e slot and see what happens...

ok good news and bad news, good news is that its not the video card, bad news is idk what the problem is.. any ideas? (i ruled out that it was a prob w/ the video card becuz i tested it w/ a different one, same problem) the prob is that when i power on the station, nothing is displayed on the monitor... the cpu fan, case fans, and the psu fans all work, all the leds and such work, and the video card fan works; but nothing is displayed on the monitor, the power doesnt even turn on it just stays in power save mode.

oh and thanks for all of those who tried to help me, im glad i ruled out the video card thanks to your help

Ok so you get no 'beep' from the PC when you power it on? If so, the problem could be a number of things. I'd start by double checking everything is properly connected & seated..

Failing that, disconnect & remove everything you dont need to start the PC & try it again. Sometimes things such as simply removing & reseating the CPU fix this problem...

You need to unplug EVERYTHING....ram (1 stick at a time), optical drives, HDDs, and sound card and see if you can get into BIOS, if so, start plugging stuff in one by one.

This is a good way to trouble shoot if you have no idea where to start.
