What are your ambient temperatures?

And how good is your internal airflow?

1 in front and 1 in back is typically the bare minimum.

How is your wire management?
How hot is your VGA? A hot VGA will heat up in internal temps, and hence everything else.
How hot is your mobo?
Northbridge temps?

Remember, it is the little things that count. Maybe its not your cpu thats overheating, but rather another component giving off heat and being absorbed by other components (like your cpu).

This may seem like a stupid question, but i need to go through all possibilities...do you have the 9700 pushing air in the right direction?
