7800GTX GO dual monitor problem

Hi, I have a laptop Clevo m570 with a Nvidia 7800GTX GO and DVI output.

I have a 20" VGA monitor that I want to plug, so I've bought a DVI to VGA adapter, but it doesn't work.

when I right click on the desktop, I can see under "NVIDIA display" : "Laptop Display" and "Sony CPD-520GS".

I also have installed UltraMon, and he also recognize the second display. But nothing.

So the display is recognize by my computer, but nothing happens.

The monitor IS working, I have a monitor test device from NTI, and it work absolutely fine.

I have the latest NVidia Driver for my card ForceWare Release 80 Version: 84.63

Are you sure you have enabled it? It's not just a case of plugging it in, you have to enable in either ultramon or in the nvidia driver.

When it boots up does it come on? My second monitor shows exactly whats on my main monitor until it gets to Windows, then it becomes independant.

dunno if it will work as different laptops have different settings, but in most cases there will be a screen key (usually F4) and you can hold the function button down and hit F4, or relevent screen key... ( it will look like a picture of a monitor/screen ) It should then cycle through the available displays.

... Its a long shot as I have never dealt with that specific laptop. Hope it works mate.
