Annoying Keyboard Problem

Thread Starter
Here's the dealio:

My keyboard does not work before my OS loads.

I've tried both PS2 ports and all sorts of stuff.

See sig for system, Its annoying because I am unable to enter the BIOS, and GRUB loads into Ubuntu after 10 seconds and I can't choose to boot into Linux or boot into windows. Gay.

Has anyone had this problem? Would resetting the BIOS help?

Have you tried using a different keyboard? I had issues once with a faulty keyboard, and it wouldn't work upon startup. A new (well, different) keyboard fixed it right up.

There is usually an option in the BIOS for USB/PS2 keyboard/mouse support.

Check that

Otherwise - no idea.

I have that problem as well. Instead of actually changing keyboards altogether, I plug another one in while my main keyboard is in as well. Usually the second keyboard can control everything like normal.
'bout time.

ROTFL! WHOOPS!

That sucks!

*EDIT*
Oh, duh.
If it is a USB/PS2 bios issue, he should use whatever he's not using now, and get into BIOS and change it, reboot with the "bad" keyboard

maybe try a usb keyboard?
My USB keyboard wouldn't work until it's booted without USB Keyboard support enabled in BIOS... but it still let me enter the BIOS with it off. I just couldn't control GRUB with it disabled.
