Does anyone know how far you can go on stock voltages with the Q6600? I was at 3033.2 MHz last night and i am just wonder how far i can go on stock voltage...

What's your stock voltage? My Q is rated 1.35... I'm on 3.0ghz right now at 1.31.

Sure you could go further than 3.0 on your SLi board. DS3 Rev3.3 Doesn't seem to do to well for me.

On water why not just push it up to at 1.4 and see how high you can go?

I'm still a newbie at understanding voltage...

On stock voltage of 1.2625V I could push 2.9 GHz.

3.0 GHz @ 1.300V
3.1 GHz @ 1.350V
3.2 GHz @ 1.400V
All Orthos stable.

Notice how after a certain point (2.9 GHz) the need for more voltage greatly increases.

I'm going to try for 3.3 stable, which will probably require 1.45V or there abouts.

With more voltage comes more heat, with your cooling you should be doing fine. Bring on the Vcore!

When i was at 3.0 ghz vista was laggy... could that be caused by the cpu not getting enough Voltage?

Vista would crash or do undesirable things if there wasn't enough Vcore, not run laggy, I think.

Have you tried running 2 instances of Orthos to check for stability?

Well you should use some program to check for stability. Theres no point in playing around with your memory until you've checked for stability. Just make sure you're not pushing you RAM too hard....yet.

4 GB of RAM might need a bit more of voltage or looser timings for a better OC.

Loosen your timings first, 5-5-5-15 should be fine under 800 MHz for sure. Then run 2xOrthos or 4xPrime95 to see if your system is stable or not.....then go from there. Try to get into the habit of testing for stability after changing something, it will take longer, but will make for a much easier OC (and higher because you will better understand how each setting affects stability). There's no point in running around in the dark.
