I dont know how hard it would be to find but try and get some copper stock thats the thickness you need and cut it into squares then use those as shimms. You would probably have to put as5 or something inbetween the cooler and the shim and inbetween the shim and the ram.

I am not sure where you would get it maybe a machine shop or something but it should be pretty cheap even though its copper.

Pennies arent really copper anymore anyways. Sure they are metal but the inside is someting else. There was a thread on it a while ago and a coin collector put us in the know. Pennies were only solid copper for certain years and such most of which you wont find around. It would be better to jsut use some aluminum plate or copper plate if you can find it.

Yeah, coins would be a last resort. A pure(ish) aluminum or copper would be best, but even a sanded (lapped) coin will transfer more heat than air.
