He wants a good gaming rig for about this much money, here is what I suggested, let me know of any tweaks.

Case: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16811146029 - $119 (He requested it)

MoBo - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813128012 - $119

GPU - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814150230 - $129

PSU - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16817103937 - $39

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819115013 - $117

Ram - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820231098 - $80

Monitor - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16824254001 - $169

HSF - http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16835186134 - $34

Total: $806

Little over, but it seems pretty solid. Any suggestions/comments?

Lol I am not Chozart but I will try to help. ( I am a bit dizzy from tequila but when its about PCs I am fine =3)

Case: The one he wants looks awesone =3 Nice venting. Sounds like a tornado case =3

MoBo: The one you suggrested is good. Gigabyte has the best mobos when we talk about long life like asus has mobos with high speed so I will suggest one asus too which is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131030

GPU: According to this list http://www.overclock.net/graphics-ca...hlight=ranking X1950 pro is better than 8600GT but since its only one step under I guess 8600 is good considering shader 4.0 but if you buy it cause you want to use ti on vista and directX 10 i suggest you to not since I douplt vista will work that well. Anyway this is what I suggest is this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102034 . Yes its a GT and not a pro but I read in forums that a Pro is an overclocked GT and if you overclock them both they reach about the same levels. (Well thats what I think at least)

PSU: Well as long as you think that PSU has enough protection. I like getting good parts but one of the think I want to be the best is the PSU since everything works by the power it provides. I like PSUs that offer a lot of protections so I suggest you to rethink it. I would suggest enermax PSUs which is a very good company but lately I read a lot of people talking about PC Power and Cooling and Silverstone. Still I will tick to Enermax for its protections. =3

CPU: Since the 6300 is 50 usd more I guess sticking to 4300 is a good choice. Nothing to say on this section. Sorry ^^''

Ram: Nice choice on the company but for 20 USD you can get the so much better http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231114. I can't compare the 5-5-5-15 with the 4-4-3-5 timings. Give a good thought to that.

Monitor: Sadly I am not very knowledgeable about monitors except that LG has 0 dead pixel guaranty and I love iiyama =3

HSF: I like the one you chose since its not the type that blows the head on the motherboard but in comparisons http://www.silentpcreview.com/article285-page5.html the fav Scythe Ninja http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835185038 wins the one you chose although it says with a nexus mounted. Anyway I still think scythe ninja is better but thats just my thoughts.

I hope I helped enough. I am a bit dizzy still and since I am greek I am sorry for all the typos and grammar mistakes. Well good luck (and yes I know I did not lower the price but got it higher but like I say better pay more and be happy with it than regret the money you spent.

I hate the classic ones cause they blow the heat on the motherboard while the ones like mine or the poster blow the heat to the back of the case and mine both blow the head on the exhaust fans ^^

What games does your friend play/intend to play? A 8600GT might not cut it. Also, are you going to overclock for him?

Haha. A little more from here and a little more from there. As you can see everyone suggest your friend getting at least 1000 bucks and then try again XD
