e4300 @ 2.6GHz stock volts...

Thread Starter
I "predicted" running my new e4300 at 2.6GHz stable on stock volts since I ordered my ASRock 4CoreDual and e4300 a week ago, and my predicitions were right, here's my orthos screen. Might try to get it to 2.66GHz just because...heats are 38-40 c idles, 53-57 C load. Getting a different cooler, no worries!

bah 2.6 is nothing, go straight to 3ghz @ 1.38v. try that

dont worry about those temps. only buy a better cooler if you plan on going further.

my mobo apparently hits a 290ish FSB wall, and there is no voltage adjustment. Would have picked a better one but I needed the AGP slot for now, so I'm stuck at stock voltage for the time being. I have only played with it a bit though, wanted to make sure she was stable at 2.6GHz before taking her farther. Also, for some unknown reason, with my FSB at 290 and my ram set at DDR 400, the actual rated speed is only 217 (434MHz). Is there something wrong with my divider settings? I know when I had my old 754 board at 278 FSB, and set ram to run at 333, I hit 227 (454MHz). Not a big deal as I'm grabbing 2GB DDR2 on Thursday, but kinda strange I thought...

well, 2611 MHz is the max I'll hit on this motherboard for now. We'll see how far she'll really go in a month or so when I grab an SLI mobo...looks promising as it's mad stable at 2611 with the stock voltage. So I'm hoping for 3.5ish then, we'll see how accurate that prediction will be!

what prog are you using to monitor your temps.....
coretemp 94 shows -15c so does speedfan i believe
so far the most accurate ive seen is with coretemp 95
i dont trust my bios reading either

so you may be seeing 53-57 load but its probably more like 68-72c

not sure if you are using stock as i am but i have mine over clocked to 1.98ghz and its idles at 39-41 and load is 53-57 accurate temps

considering your clock it may be safe to assume that your temps are off =\\

I'll trust BIOS before most, and I was told speedfan is more accurate with e4300's, I'll try coretemp 95 though. And that is the puniest e4300 overclock I have ever seen. Why even do it? And I'm pretty sure speedfan is accurate, as I stated before, my mobo shuts down at 75 c, and has never done that when some of the other programs I have tried hit the 75 c mark.

and it's 18 hours Orthos stable, then I stopped the test to play some games.

Also, I realized that 290 FSB is my motherboards max after some further tweaking. So 2611MHz final stable overclock at stock voltage.

just thought i would try speedfan again just for the heck of it...
Reporting 22c IDLE FOR BOTH CORES!!!!!!!!!!!! which is highly unlikely because my ambient temp is 23.8-24.2c
