Have you run Memtest86+? (link to the free memory diagnostic software in my sig)

Have you tried 1 stick of RAM at a time in the first "A" slot?

I see you are still running the factory Bios. A newer Bios revision may help.

Have you checked the Asus forums for other Striker Extreme owners with similar problems?

For what it's worth, here is someone with a similar problem with the Striker...

Hmmm.... that forum link looks bad. How do you find out if it is the board and if so how do you get it replaced?

I'm less happy than I was yesterday.

Where did you buy it and when? You should be able to RMA it through Asus.

I noticed a long time ago that newegg has a Limited Non-Refundable 30-Day Return Policy on the Striker Extreme.

That sent up all kinds of red flags for me when I was searching for a board for my sig rig.

A $330 motherboard that newegg wouldn't back with their Standard Return Policy... I don't think so!

You need to find the source of the problem using the process of elimination.

Run that memtest software I told you about. It will tell you if your RAM is faulty.

Ensure voltages are set properly in your BIOS for your particular RAM.

Try one stick of RAM at a time.

Try some different RAM if at all possible.

Try a BIOS Flash. If I remember right, the Striker Extreme was one of the first 680i boards to hit the street. The early 680i boards had all sorts of problems with the BIOS. A later revision may have cleared up some RAM incompatibility issues, who knows.

This is why I went with a 650i board from the jump. I heard too many horror stories about the 680i boards at the time. One look at the results of this review and I was sold on the MSI P6N SLI Platinum. At half the price of a Striker it sure did make spending twice as much, for features I don't need, seem ludicrous.

That said, there are a few Striker Extreme owners here. Maybe one of them will show up eventually and clear up this issue for you.

Personally, I would post a new topic in the Intel Motherboards section with "Striker Extreme" in the title. That should get someones attention.
