Yeah you can get Nod32,AVG you wont have any problems with them but dont get "Spybot Search and Destroy" it screwed up my registry also.

Yes but AVG. NOD32, AVS, AVAST are all SOLID products used by millions that are free, supported and work amazing..

AVG also has a paid version but the free one is just as good.

AVG and AVAST is totally safe. Try those on a different computer if you like. Many will recommend you those two on the forum.

Spybot: Search & Destroy ruined your registries? I've never heard of that problem before.

Using AVG on all the PC's in the house - we just got a 2 year license for 3 PC's + AVG Firewall for £30 - which is the same price for one PC, for one year from Norton!

Im inclined to use Norton until the subscription runs out, from then ill get Nod 32.. its supposedly a good AV

Got all of that appart from Nod...

I found a small fix for Norton, and its really quite random, I dont see how it relates; apparently setting up a static IP for your system speeds it up, and funnily it has, only took 1 min this time..
