Right ok i want to upgrade my system (mobo ram gfx n cpu)

I do play games but not that much,

Now at the moment i want to spend as little as possible but get the best bang for my buck (usual story, want to Oc) ive been looking at amd x2 3800+
now ive been away from the scene for a while but i got this jist of most things, ive been looking at mobos and looks like alot of people recommend the biostar but they dont sell them in the uk:S

anyway im looking for the best mobo for overclocking (btw im gna be water cooling the Cpu)

with Regards to Ram what sort of speed am i looking at? with DDR2 what is advisable?

with Gfx card im just looking to something simple have seen a few 7900's might go for that unless theres a better Ati equivalent

Also at the moment ive been offered a DFI lanparty nforce4 SLI D
FX55 with retail heatsink and2 gig ram (bundle)4 x 512mb sticks pc3200 for £120 what do you guys reckon? its socket 939 so im not too keen but will the performance be better even though its single core?

Im trying to get something in the £150 range (low i know lol)

also last question with regards to socket 939 and 940/am2, how noticable is the performance difference due to memory bandwidth and will quad core cpus be using the am2 socket or will there be a new one?

any info will be appreciated

Well, bottom line is 939 is a dead technology. You can't upgrade without upgrading the whole system. With AM2 atleast you can put the AM3 chips on the AM2 boards and the ram and vid card transfer over to. I would say go AM2 and get either a DFI lanparty board or a Biostar Tforce series board. Just don't get the 6100 board. Get the 3600 x2 brisbane core CPU to go with it. With water cooling you can get 3.2 to 3.5Ghz.

Also DDR2 is WAY cheaper than DDR.

yea but i cant find any suppliers of the biostar in the uk, does anyone know of any

i know the msi m2n sli deluxe is recommended but its a bit on the pricey side. So any other well known OC'able mobos, theres a few DFI's but theyre quite pricey too

with regards to DDR2 Ram what speed is needed

ok thanks what about an opty though?

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...uct_uid=110282

would this perform better than a 3600 x2 at stock? and which will outperform at Oc'd levels? i know its socket 939 but with the new quads and ddr3 on its way i might go for that option, im gathering all the info i can at the moment.

Just get a Brisbane. OC extremely well for CHEAP CHEAP CHEAPP.

Get some G.Skill HZ RAM and a nice mobo.

Grab an 8800GTS if you can. I support EVGA.

If not, at least a 7 series like a 7900GT.

if i go for the ddr800 i can only afford a 1GB stick, maybe upgrade later on, but am going towards the corsair 2Gb, not too sure, also with the DDR800 is OCZ, crucial or corsair better?

DDR2 800 at least w/ 2x1G.
CAS4 prefered but CAS5 is still ok.
The below ilnk may help it focusing on the which have the Micron D9 ICs for the best bang for the buck. They OC very well which helps to keep tighter timings at higher speeds.
