My dad got a ThinkPad A21e on eBay recently for general use. Everything is fine, but the sound skips sometimes. Sometimes it's fine and sometimes it isn't, but there does not seem to be a pattern. I've decided that a good father's day gift would be a PCMCIA (PC Card) sound card. The laptop has two card slots, but one is in use by a wireless card for the internet. Obviously, this card cannot be removed. I tried putting the wireless card in the other slot, but it didn't fit, as if there were some tab on the side preventing it from going in. I don't know the difference between the two slots (wireless card is in the lower slot and the upper slot is the one I can't fit it in). I'm hesitant to buy a sound card for fear that it wont fit, like the wireless card didn't. I know that PC Cards come in different types, but I really don't know much about them. I read the Wikipedia entry on PCMCIA and it didn't help much. Can anyone with more knowledge about this subject help me out? Can you recommend me a cheap PCMCIA sound card?
