Best Quad Core Mobo for overclocking? - Page 3

Some new MBs are reported to support up to 8 drives in RAID .. will have to wait to see how they are configured and perform...

Personally I prefer the nVidia controller as it is easier to configure and performs a wee bit better than than the ICHxR .. see here

No mention of the Commando?

P965 still has a lot to offer for quads...

I've had my Q6600 over 3.9 GHz on this board (436x9), and have had the FSB up as high as 457. That's nothing to scoff at for a quad core mobo.

cognoscenti has managed to get up to 3.45Ghz with her Core 2 Quad so far. Quads don't overclock as easily as the Duo's on any board due to the higher thermal output of twice as many cores.

Core 2 Quad @ 3.45Ghz on P5N32-E SLi

Thats was within 5 minutes of installing the CPU too.

Unlocked mullti that the QX6800 has is always nice though.

Its the cooling to go higher that I was lacking.
