Correct.

Also, whenever I boot up my computer, it'll detect and say that I'm running on Dual Channel Interleaved, something like that.

yup, and if your ram is in slots #1 and 3 it's dual channel or #2 and 4. The Dimms go into the same color slot.

So ECC can give 100% error proof but run slower?

Yeah that is what I thought until my computer was continually freezing. I have 2 green slots and 2 purple slots. When I had both my 512s in the green slots or slots 1 and 3 my computer would not cooperate. It wasn't until I swapped them to #1 and #2 slots or 1 green and one purple until it worked. And even though they are in different colour DIMM slots CPU-Z still says they are running dual channel. Strange EH?

I have the Neo4 platinum, 1 & 2 are dual channel, I had quite a few people tell me it should be single channel that way, but the manul says dual channel slots 1 & 2, Memtest says they are running dual, & so does CPU-Z. Not all Mobo's have the color scheme working the same way.
