read my other post, I have plenty of ram, bf 2142 only uses about 555mb. and my system only uses about 300mb.

Get more, better RAM!

2GB (2x1GB) matched pair.
Vista is a lot more RAM intensive. The Aero Glass effect eats up a lot of your system memory. Try disableing it prior to game play, that might also help.

Using BF2142, they compare the 8 series NVIDIA GPUs.

It looks like the 8500 struggles a bit.
Try overclocking your GPU using ATI tool from Tech Power UP:
