It's Time for The Next Powerful 120mm fan

I now have a Scythe S-Flex FDB 1600rpm working with Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme. The fan is doing a decent job cooling and the noise is reasonable quiet for a 1600rpm fan. However it's still not quite enough for me as its max RPM is actually at 1500rpm using its 3 pin connector for both powering and monitoring.

I would like some other suggestions for an even better cooling 120mm fan that's reasonable quiet at its rated RPM. Please Note: It must have the 3 pin connector to -motherboard for powering and monitoring like the Scythe S-Flex, NOT just the one yellow wire 3 pin for monitoring only and uses the 4pin MOLEX to power.

I like easy cable management and would appreciate less cables/wires going around to get the job done

Thanks
:up:

Heh. The best airflow? I know which fan it is.

This Delta fan is the stongest fan I ever seen at least considering airflow.

Thanks Weltal, very informative and useful information.

The first Delta fan you recommanded would work really well if I've nice pair of ear protection to go with. Well, that's why I wouldn't like working at an airport. LOLZ

Ah yes..Silverstone, that's one solid contender I can see.
FM121 = 25mm version?

I think I've found the best one?

32mm and 9 blades, Yum!

I do not know what the seller you found says but 122 is 32mm and not 38mm and if you ask why its because the main site says so >> FM121 is indeed 25mm and about the controller.. all the 3 FM12X have fan controllers.

Anyway check this newegg specs and you will see that only the FM121 has 110 CFM and 122 only 107.

As for the 107 airflow. No I did not just found it on newegg and said thats it. I looked around in random forums by googling it and all the ones I found said 107. So i suggest you think it before buying that 38mm silverstone that gives off 110 cfm airflow ^^''

have you heard the Silver Stone FM121/122 fan running at around ~2000rpm in person? I estimate the db would be somewhere around 30db and 35db would be my absolutely max as I don't feel like manually control the speed 20 times a day depends on the application and situation.

I think what I'll do is put my current Scythe 1600rpm (1500rpm actual) as the exhuast(pull) on the TR Ultra120 Xtr and just add the silverstone FM122(32mm) to creat more airflow.

Right now I've 2*1600rpm Scythe and 2*1200rpm Scthe and they're preety quiet all running at the same time. At least it's much better than the Zalman 9700NT running at full speed 2750rpm and with 1500rpm from the Scythe, I'm still getting a couple degrees drop from the new TR Ultra120 X. I know the result is somewhat disspointing but I guess it's becouse the base of the heatsink is convex as I could make it slightly tilted when I press pressure on side on my glass desktop.....I'm sure the temp would drop at least 5 degrees more after I lapped it..
