REVIEW: Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F

Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F

Rated Specs

Bearing Type: S-FDB, Fluid Dynamic Bearing developed by SONY
RPM: 1600 RPM
Air Flow: 63.7 CFM
Noise Level: 28.0 dBA
Size: 120MM

My Two Cents

I almost feel Scythe was being a bit modest when they rated the noise level. Bringing my ear closer and closer to the fan, the only real noise I ever heard was when I got so close my hair touched the fan. XD

Apparently this fan has a function built in that will stop the motor when something blocks the blades. Seconds after blockage is removed, the fan will start up again. Here's a movie of it in action:

Very sturdy fans. They push a lot of air and are remarkably silent. Nothing much more to say.

Bought 3 for use with a Thermochill PA120.3 radiator and another for case exhaust. I'll update once I test them further and w/ a fan controller. I'm quite confident these will give me satisfactory results from what I've seen so far.

Any other people with 1st hand experience using these puppies?

ROFL!! I love how the guy uses his fingers in the video to stop the fan.

Scythe usually makes good products from what I've heard. I have a couple of Scythe fans... not the same model but you can't even hear these things running.

I have three... All F's

1 had a bit of a high pitched tone to it at full speed... but nothing too bad.

I've had alot of 120mm's, these are my favorite

I think I am quickly becoming one, too. I've tried numerous fans up until now, but these blast them all out of the water.

Picking up 2 more of this model for my next budget build, for my girlfriend. Might buy 4, because Newegg drops the price from $19.99 to $12.99 a piece. Save the extra 2 for something else.

Awesome, awesome fans.

I thought I would add an important specification for this fan. According to Scythe Technical Support, this fan's static pressure is 3.78 mm H2O.

Got this fan yesterday, did a search for specs and OCN came up

Build quality on this fan is amazing. Blades feel rock solid, I don't think I will snapping these accidentally anytime soon.

Sup Heru.
