Help: Compilation of a few CPUs.

Okay, I have a few of these processors, and futurely speaking going to overclock them even more. I only keep them all under 35C, I guess. So I do not overclock too much. I just want to know the so-called limit of the follow CPU's. Thank you.

Pentium D Smithfield 805 2.66ghz
Pentium D Smithfield 820 2.8ghz
Pentium D Presler 940 3.2ghz

Just give me the suggested temperature I should have at IDLE and FULL LOAD. Thank you!

Well don't cross 65 C with the Pentium D's but you could get 4 ghz out of the 2.8 and 3.6 out of the 2.6 i bet with great air cooling. For the presler 4.2 isn't out of the question either. This is with aftermarket cooling though.

^ Oh okay, I am also maybe planning to buy an E4300, what temperatures or do all the C2D have like a suggested temperature?

The Preslers have broken the 4GHz barrier quite often. I think a member on here got a 930 up to 4.9 on water cooling a while back. The 940 has been known to sometimes reach the 4.3-4.5 range with good air cooling. With good cooling, the 805 was really popular for those who wanted to get reasonable dual-core performance at a lower price. Most were able to get at least 3.6, and quite a few got up to the 3.9-4.0 range.

EDIT: 65C is the highest temperature that's really safe with those AFAIK.

I have two good motherboards, and I want to leave the one that cannot overclock too well for my micro-motherboard. Which one should I choose for the micro? The 805? The 820 is the one I have NOT got yet, but I was thinking about it until I saw the E4300 for a decent price now I don't know which should I chooose. Either one the worse one will be for the micro.

I don't have to worry if it's 65, because I usually watch it carefully.
