7300gt problem...

Thread Starter
hey guys... ive had my pc for a while and have also tried to research this problem with no success. i have a biostar v7302gt21 (7300gt) video card. i have the latest nvidia forceware drivers also. still i get video problems. applications like games and windows media player on movies lags severely. also sometimes there are discolored pixels on my screen. i am pretty sure there is not a problem with my monitor because these little discolorations go away when i minimize the window, then come back up in the exact same spot when i bring the window back up. same problem occurred in xp. now i have vista nd am experiencing the same problem... i have screenshots of the discolorations if you want to see them email me... any help would be very appreciated. thanks

edit: also i get the message in vista that my display driver has stopped responding but has recovered alot. it happens many times during game play

use an image web server such as www.photobucket.com for pics if OCN's pic upload doesnt work.
also download ati tool and scan for artifacts, also look at your temps it shouldnt be higher than 80c!
and what is your core speed and memory speed set to?

i havent messed with any speeds... and i will check 2morrow what the temps are tomorrow when that computer has been on for a while because (it seems like) this problem only happens when the computer has been on for a while, but no matter how long the game has been running the games always do the weird stuff

has the problem started resently or has it done this from the begining?
is your gpu heatsink seated correctly??the reason you are getting the discoloured pixels are either because your gpu heatsink aint seated right or your card is faulty.

this is a picture of the desktop... notice all of the green discolored pixels... most of the time the pixes turn green, rarely they turn any other color....
