Oblivion?

Whats all the hype about on this RPG?

I was looking at getting it and see that its only single player, and I've also taken noticed to an extremely large modding community for this game.

Did anyone mod it for multiplayer like in GTA or is it just an excellent single player experience?

Either way I was wondering if its worth the $50. I've never really been a huge fan of Fantasy RPGs even though they're the most popular...I've always been more of a Sci-Fi person lol

The gameplay and graphics on vanilla oblivion are so-so, but with a few essential mods it turns into a much more traditional rpg gameplay wise and has graphics which are nothing short of absolutely stunning, especially on the 8800 series with AA, AF, and HDR enabled.

But whats the point to it?

Is it open-ended or does it have a kind of storyline you follow through a sequence of quests?

Open-ended.

I like sci-fi RPG's too, but there haven't been any good ones out lately.

It can be open-ended and it has a killer story line. You can do what you want, when you want. If you turn on all the eye candy it looks awsome too. I wont even bother talking about the mods...they are never ending. I am a picky gamer and i have no problems recomending this game to anyone. Buy it!!!

For Oblivion? Nah. Bethesda said a demo wouldn't give you the experience since they would have to limit you to a certain area.
