Being quite a High definition freak i can say that at the moment HDDVD has a superioir video quality due to the AVC-1 codecs its using many Bluray titles are still using MPEG-2 which has alot of grain, But it is being corrected.

The problem with Bluray is that the specification for it is still not finalised so it should have never been released, it was rushed due to competition, so many older players may not support features in newer titles, im personally on no ones side but i have doubts with Bluray as Sony tend to put a lot of restrictions on consumers and firms as any title on Bluray has to be Ok'd By sony before hand <<edited for content>>

The only problem with HDDDVd is that it cannot handle really high bitrate video and audio and has lower max's than blu ray has but to be honest to the naked eye these differences are not noticeable. Also the storage issues most people complain about but thats about to end as Toshiba i believe it is are releasing triple layer discs.
