Can Anyone Solve This - Thanks - Page 2

Don't forget that if it says your RAM runs at 333MHz, it means 333x2= 667MHz, and ya, DDR2 667= PC2 5300 and PC2 5400.

I have a 3.6ghz processor. Should I change the voltage to 1.45v and see if it racehs the full 3.6ghz, or will that burn out the CPU,

thanks
Do not increase voltages unless absolutely necessary. Check your system profile in "Hardware" under "Control Panel" and see what that's saying!

You may have something that is underclocking your CPU when it's not being loaded!!!! Check all software that's running in the background. Check Bios for "auto overclocking" features (these will sometimes Underclock" CPU when not under load). Also, make sure that there isn't a "power saving" feature in your bios that is enabled. If you know which MB you have, please post that, maybe I can find a manual for it and clue you in.

is the bios up to date? maybe try re-flashing it?

my motherboard is made by elitegroup. In Control Panel, under System, it says 3.60ghz, but CPU-Z says only 2.7ghz. Is CPU-Z wrong or is System wrong?

Elite Group is ECS. What model number is it. CPU-Z will tell you all info needed!

I think you are looking at the wrong info on CPU-Z. "System" will tell you what Windows is reading the chip as and 99% of the time, it's correct.

I'm not sure which model # it is, but heres all the information I can type from what CPU-Z says:

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 560, Socket 775 LGA - 3.60ghz w/ht
Voltage: 1.312v

Core Speed: 2.7ghz - Multiplier: x14.0 - Cores: 1 / Threads: 2
Bus speed: 199.5mhz - Rated FSB: 798mhz

Motherboard: Elitegroup 915P-ICH6 - Chipset: Intel
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies - Version: 6.00 PG / Date: 02/14/2005

Memory: 4GB PC2-5300 (333mhz) - Even though my memory is PC2-6400 and 800mhz, for some reason CPU-Z says 5300 with 333mhz??? (brand is ocz)

Thanks, and I hope this helps.

There is no 560, are you sure doesn't say 660? Seen Here

That multiplier is actually suppose to be 18, not 14!!!
