CPU-Z sometimes reports wierd Voltages, ignore them!

If you bought it from Fry's, then you can probably change certain things like the CPU voltage, and almost nothing else. Not much luck in OC'ing through the bios :/

Hey Dskina, you think that MB may be a proprietary one for Fry's, made by ECS?

yes I did buy it through frys. Is there any way I can change the bios? Overall, its a really stable computer, its just giving me a hard time right now. It has a lot of fans, 3 120mm and 2 60mm, and also 1 smaller one near the hard drives, and also the heatsink/mobo fan. I'm sure I can overclock it, but as of right now, its running UNDERCLOCKED for some reason. I will just be happy to get it back to the regular speed, but so far I'm having the worst of luck

House brands

In addition to selling many major brands of PCs, Fry's also sells two models of in-house PC designs. Their flagship Fry's PCs compete with similarly featured Microsoft Windows PC offerings from Hewlett-Packard, Sony, and Compaq. In addition, they offer a lower-end model branded as Great Quality (or "GQ") PCs. GQ PCs tend to be Fry's most inexpensive PC offerings, often priced in the sub-$200 range during daily and weekly sales. GQ PCs are often bundled with the Linspire Linux based OS as well as Windows, one of the few Linux offerings available in a retail PC configuration. Some of their Linux PCs feature AMD Geode processors, unusual in the United States, since they are mainly sold in computers for developing countries. They also market accessories like cables and CD-R discs under the GQ brand name and simple computer peripherals products under the Emprex brand name. Also, notably, are the ECS brand motherboards that are sold and owned by Fry's. They are frequently bundled with processors to make them virtually free. They are also very failure prone, being the most returned item in the store[citation needed]. Another house brand that doesn't have a much better reputation is Airlink, the brand under which networking devices are sold
I would say that it's a very big possibility.

Well, I'm gonna head to bed now, it's 2am here and I have to be at work @ 8am. I'll do a little more research when I get home tomorrow night and see what I can come up with!

Do you guys think this problem might be happening because of my memory? I just added 2 2GB sticks today, and I just noticed the problem....

heres the memory info incase you guys can come up with something. - Its OCZ Dual Channel DDR2 2x2GB (4gb total) PC-6400 (800mhz) - The exact product was the OCZ Memory upgrade kit for the "Vista upgrade edition." The memory is fairly new, I bought it about 1-2 weeks ago.

Might be able to flash the Bios with an ECS version, but that's ALWAYS risky!!!!
That MB only supports up to DDR2-533, so your RAM is automatically going to be underclocked.

I don't think my MOBO is failing, because I've had the compute for about 4 years now, and its been very stable. If the mobo was failing, I dont think anything would work. The longest I've had this computer on is 1 month straight, and everything was perfect, temps stayed stable at about 60c. I have no clue wahts going on, I believe its with my memory, the problem just started when I added my memory today, but I dont know how the memory should affect the processor??
