alright so when I first started OCing i found this article while it is very specific to the mobo/cpu combo(d975xbx2/e6600) it is an excellent all around guide for an OCer and essentially taught me everything from changing clock speeds and calculating RAM bandwidth to voltage changes. Basically every major concept is covered and formulas displayed.
