Asus P5n-e sli cooling question

Thread Starter
OK, i must admit the P5n-e sticky at the top of the page is far too big, however just a quick read through some of it, I didnt find the answer i am trying to find
So, Ive sold my CPU, 1 stick of RAM and mobo and have just purchased a P5n-e SLI and a core 2 duo e4300 which I wish to overclock the hell out of (should arrive in the mail tomorow). I have become aware of heating issues on the northbridge and the southbridge. Heres the questions
1: How hot exactly does the NB get, and is an additional fan actually required (I will probably overclock the CPU to about 2.5Ghz)? If so, what do you reccomend for this? I have seen people have used 40 or 60mm fans on the stock heatsink. Do these fans just screw straight on?
2: I have a Sunbeamtech Silent Whisper 775 cooler (imagine an exact replica of the TT Arctic Freezer Pro 7). Will this fit fine with the huge Asus heatsink on the NB
3: I have pulled a blue aluminium heatsink of an old Geforce 2 video card I found lieing around. Will this work on the SB if I were to cut it to shape, then lap it? How would I fasten it to the SB?
4: I have a whole bunch of 80mm fans around. Any chance I could stick this on the NB or do I have to buy a 40mm?

Cheers
I will ask more questions as they come to me

1/ Reseat the stock NB heatsink with AS5, a fan really isn't required.
2/ Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro requires a slight trimming of plastic on NB side of fan, w/ stock P5N-E NB heatsink(PM dpawl31 for details)
3/ arctic silver adhesive? Although if you use that stuff, you won't be getting it off ever again
4/ Like I said in question 1, a fan isn't really required. I suppose if you had the room for a 80mm you could put one on.

cool thanks for the help. Just wondering, what is the size I would have to trim the heatsink to to put on the SB? I would imagine it is around 30mmx30mm?

Also, where would I get some of this arctic silver adhesive? Can soem of those thermal heat pads that came with the ramsinks on my video card cooler be used? Maybe not such a great idea, but just wondering, what would happen if superglue was used?

I'll take measuremens of the SB tommorow for you.

Well, I'm not really familiar with shops in nz, but a quick google search found this hardware shop in nz selling the stuff. http://www.ascent.co.nz/productspeci...?ItemID=141829 I think you could use the thermal heatpads, but only if they are sticky on both sides. Your likely to get cooler temps by using the arctic silver adhesive.

And, super glue would be bad.

Its roughly 25mm squared.

I'd cut it so its about 30mm or 35mm so that you have extra surface area to play around with.
