well, i finally got all my gear....

e6600
p5b plus mb
2 gig dual channel ocz special ops ram
2 wd 250 gig sata II drives
evga 8800 320 MB superclocked GPU

and the guy sent me the coolermaster xtreme power duo 600w psu, instead of the ocz silentXtreme PSU..... itll do.

so far i have built the cpu and northbridge waterblock adapters for my danger den blocks, the cpu is the RBX and the NB is the DD NB waterblock (maze4), i was going to laser cut stainless steel or aluminium, but found a piece of 5/8" lexan for the job, the lexan looks much better.

i have them mounted but have one question, i put a fair amount of downward pressure on the cpu using small threaded rod and the springs that were used on the dd block in my old socket a setup, and was wondering if too much pressure was applied to the c2d, would the mb pins be able to bend? or is there a "stop" in the cpu seat on the MB? the springs arnt maxed out, but its a good bit of downforce....

this evening ill post build pics, and will have to get fresh 1/2" hose for all the fittings, and will hopefully have my loop setup for watertesting late tonight, as im working, and have a massive home-renovation on the go..... not enough time....:-)

btw, my cpu stepping is L712A416

well see whats is capable of.....

build pics to follow!

well id say 1/2 turn or a turn and a half passed were you feel the block on the cpu. but if the board starts to bow back off till its not any more

its all put together!!! for the most part. wire management has to be done, a few lights, 1 more fan, and controller.....

the waterblocks are water tight. had one small drip on the rbx block.

right now core temp on the cpu is 37 c and MB is 37c..... stock volts and such.

my eheim pump is making a loud chatter thats driving me nuts though, ill have to source out a new pump, this one is going on 4+ years, the flow rate is very good though with the loop i set up, better than my old one.

after work i will work on tweaking the settings a bit. i will be looking for info in the intel MoBo section on settings for my p5b-plus. im thinking i may have to reseat the waterblock, but will let it run in for a day or two and see if the temps improve.

pictures to follow...... damn this system will rock, a step up from the 2400+ mobile i had with the geforce 4600 TI... ;-)

--------
update:
i just installed core temp, its telling me my TJunction is 85C and core 0 is 33C and core 1 is 33C......
these temps are better than the ones reported by the asus utility?? (PcProbeII)
