Newb Gaming Pc Build!!help!! - Page 3

One more thing I would suggest is to go to RatShack and pick up a ground teather. Just goes around your wrist and has an aligator clip you can attach to any ground, computer chassis ect. My first computer I built I fried the RAM from static electricity, luckily NewEgg replaced it (didn't tell them about the static part ). But, assembling a computer is really easy, I had my first one put together and running in a couple hours no problem (that's after the new RAM arrived ), you'll be up and going and overclocking before you know it!
And I don't have yahoo messenger but, if you have windows messenger feel free to PM me and I'll send ya my username.

You can build a much better gaming rig for the same price. Drop the processor down to the E6600, drop the motherboard down from your $209 to a $110 Asus or Biostar, and use that money to upgrade to an 8800GTS. That setup will greatly outperform what you've picked out for gaming. Remember, the video card is a major component for video gaming. It's not the place to try and save money.

Second that
You can get all the performance you need out of an E6600, and if you really need to save some money you could even go for the E6420; I think most people are getting some pretty good clocks out of these, around 3400-3600MHz or so from what I've seen, just as good as the 6600 really. I would also suggest either the Asus P5N32-E(cheaper MB and also ready for SLI, great if you plan on mainly gaming) or the P5K Deluxe(won't save any money here though but, good MB and ready for quad, no SLI support however.)
