Athlon XP's still got go! - Page 2

I was able to shave the SuperPI run down to 48s from 50s, but it was still not enough to get into 4th. Oh well, top 5 is not too shabby for a crappy mobo, stock heatsink, and value ram.

Windows booted at 2.5ghz, but I get getting errors from the programs. Looks like even 1.825v is not quite enough, and I don't want to go higher on stock cooling.

There were some outside issues between forum staff and that member, and it ended up best for everybody that it not go through.

I'm only about a second from the leader, so methinks it might be time for a floor fan, some silly voltage, and a suicide run.

Nothing much came out of todays suicide runs. I ended up getting windows to boot at 2650mhz, 1.9vcore, but got BSODs whenever there was heavy CPU load (including openin CPUz). I think the issue here was chipset voltage, as there certainly was no shortage of vcore. Vdimm was fine, I actually had the ram running on a divider because it would not boot at DDR420. (It was running somewhere around DDR360, I forget the exact number.....) Anyways, that was how I spent my morning. The best part? At 1.9vcore I was never above 50c. Floor fan FTW!

LOL chipp ur crazy

Anyhow, my old dinosaur here is still kickin. If I had a heart and a bigger wallet I'd buy a better board that lets me unlock multi's and vcore so I could OC it more. Sadly I don't get any benefit from it being XP-M cause this mobo, but all that newegg had for socket A.

Kudos for keeping Athlon's XP's alive like AGP. We never die

You know it dude!

*psst* Marshall82 is selling a A7N8X *psst* I no am calling dibs on it, I'm too limited by the rest of my system. (Specificly memory) but since you've got that nice Geil and the 2600-M, you're crazy to not to! With some decent cooling, I'd not be surprised at all if you could coax it up to 2.8ghz or so.

I originally had a 9600SE, too. Those are surprisingly potent cards, beastly overclockers. I think I had like a 200mhz core overclock on mine.
