Do you already own your Sig Rig? If so, I would go with another gig of ram. Then, I would get 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10's. That would leave you enough for a bluegears b-Enspirer or Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer Sound Card. (Week 0)

In another two weeks I would get an eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS 640MB. (Week 2)

Then, in the 4th week of saving up I would get a Q6600, make sure it's after the price drop. (Week 4)

I would also get a new Power Supply; a PC Power & Cooling 750W-Silencer can last you through 8800GTS/X SLi. If you are planing to only use GTS SLi I would get an OCZ GameXStream 700W or a FSP Group Epsilon 700W. (Week 6)

Lastly, I would get a very nice water cooling setup. I'm talking Danger Den BlackIce GTX Radiator with a Swiftech Apogee GT Extreme Water Block. (Week 8)

Week 0 - Asus P5K-Deluxe + Tuniq Tower 120

Week 2 - Case of your choice, allowing $150. 2 Seagate 320gig Perps. DVD Burner.

Week 4 - PC Power Cooling 610w. G.Skill HZs 2x1gig DDR2 800.

Week 6 - SB X-Fi ExtremeGamer. Speakers of your choice up to $220.

Week 8 - Evga 8800GTS 320mb

Week 10 - CPU of your choice at that time up to $300.

Week 12 - If you think you need more GPU power I guess you could step-up at the 1 month mark and get a GTX.

Best I could do. A lot is going to change between now and 3 months from now.

Start with the Case and PSU:

COOLER MASTER CM Stacker STC-T01-UW Black/ Silver Aluminum Bezel, SECC Chassis ATX Full Tower Computer Case $145.00
SILVERSTONE OP650 ATX12V / EPS12V 650W Power Supply $139.99
Subtotal: $284.99

Motherboard should be pushed back also. And you indicated possible SLI, even more so a reason to wait.

Not going for the week-by-week schedule, since you never know what else appears on the market

Not bad.

However:

Week 0: pick the OP650 over the 750W silencer. It will be MORE than enough for your rig, and a heck of a lot cheaper.
Week 2:
Week 4: I'd say 2GB RAM at least.
Week 6: huh? 8800GTS 640MB under $300?? where?

And depending on your upgrade plans, I'd just get Vista Home Premium. If you don't plan to upgrade your motherboard for a while, just get OEM.

I mean 320MB, lol, sorry. I mean add another 1GB of DDR2-800 because he already has 1GB of DDR2-800 in his system specs.

who knows, maybe the 640MB will make a bit of a drop in a month or so...it'd be nice. Looks like I'll still get a pretty nice rig, even with limiting to $300 every pay. I'd keep going until it had 4 GB ram though, my current rig only has 1GB for a few more days to whoever suggested I pick another one up.
