Few Questions from WCing noob

post #1 of 3
Thread Starter
Hey Guys,

I Have found a killer deal on a Thermaltake Armour Ready2Go WC Case complete with

* Thermaltake Armor VA8000BWS Black With Window
* Thermaltake Bigwater 12cm Cooling System CL-W0005 D5 Laing Pump 1/2" + D-Tek FuZion
* Thermaltake CL-W0038 Aquarius Series VGA Block
* Thermaltake CL-W0032 AquaBay M1
* Thermaltake CL-W0021 AquaBay M2
* Thermaltake CL-W0031 AquaBay M3

This will be my first WC Setup and I know nothing. Just got some opinons from my OCN buddys via IM

Questions
  1. What is the best Tubing to get? ( I want some cool UV reactive stuff )
  2. Will The GPU block be ok for my X1950XT?
  3. Is this I will need for a full "loop"
  4. Are Chipset blocks needed? Or Just extra?
  5. Will all the setup fit inside the Armour and I wont have anything outside the case?
  6. What happens if the liquid leaks on the mobo etc? (for that matter - What is the liquid in the loops?)

1. It depends on what you want to do. You can get UV reactive tubing or use and additive in the cooling compound to get the UV effect as well. Tygon or Masterkleer are great brands.

2.It should be ok, im not too familiar with how hot the X1950XT runs, but you can always upgrade the gpu block.

3.I don't know if I missed it, but I don't see a radiator anywhere on there. You'll need one of those.

4.Chipset blocks are nice. I am planning to use one in my WC build this summer. The cooler the NB the better the theoretical fsb you will be able to achieve.

5.The Armor is a huge case so I don't see why not. You might have to hang your rad/radbox outside of the case. You'll probably get better temps that way too.

Best of luck Mad!

You're limited to 3/8" tubing with the Thermaltake kit
