Build Help, anyone? :)

Thread Starter
I am currently buidling a new rig, but have stumbled onto a problem.
I don't know which screws to use to screw the mobo to the case, I tried some screws and connected with goldplated ones on the back but the rig won't start, when I unscrew the screw it does start

So what screws should I use and I do need the gold-plated connectors don't I?
Pic's of the screws would be nice

Do you have spacers between your case and the mobo? You need a bit of room so the mobo doesn't touch the case - that would cause it not to start.

Usually these screws are a but thicker and longer and mine have always been gold - but most importantly, they have female threads in the back. First you screw the spacers into the corresponding holes on the case. When they are in, just screw the mobo on to the spacers with the normal screws.

EDIT: ah hah! the Duke reminded me that they are called 'standoffs' not spacers

What exactly do you mean with spacers?
I haven't got a clue and googling didn't really help

Edit:
Haha I have been using those wrong all along! I put those in the back of the screws at the back of the case xD Dumb me, thx

Glad to help - its nice when its the simple stuff!

With the mobo touching the metal of the case, it was shorting all sorts of stuff out - luckily nothing got fried
