They are both 2.4, but the Clawhammer is about 100.00 difference. Which one will OC better. These are 754 pin.

If buy "100" you mean $100, then you might as well buy a whole new 939 CPU / Mobo

I really don't want to get a new mobo. I like the setup I have, just looking to upgrade the cpu.

well the 3700 is the fastest 754 CPU you can get, but imo it's pointless pumping money into it without going 939

3700 Clawhammers are great chips. They're got the 1mb of L2 cache, which makes for a decent performance boost over the 512kb L2 models. However, anywhere you'll find one new is probably waaay overpriced. If you want the 3700, I'd go eBay or some other used method.

If you can find a Mobile Clawhammer, all the better. Those are special low-power chips that overclock extremely well due th their reduces heat output.

If you cannot find a Mobile 3700 anywhere, I think your next best bet would be a 3200 Venice. Several members on here still use them, and good steppings have been known to reach 3ghz in a good system.

I have thought about getting a mobile but my mobo doesn't support mobile.
