I wouldn't get the 320 MB, due to higher memory usage in current and future games.

to push up to 640mb takes me over budget. the evga 8800gts 320mb is looking like the cookie, theres a "superclocked" version on ocuk for the same money. 575/1700 raher than 500/1600, so a smidj faster (perhaps). i agree about more mb would be better, but i cant find any for under £230ish. maybe i could persuade the other half to give me more pocket money....

I love this card, it hauls. Dont beleive what they tell you. Blah blah blah, high resolution. Realistically, my card is perfectly fine at 1680x1050. If you have something larger than that, than chances are you can easily afford a GTX. Bear in mind, the 320 only costs 270 dollars, sorry don't know what that is in your currency, I just know its the best value per performance you can get, period.

thats pretty much what eveyone seems to say. the blah blah about higher resolutions requiring the 640mb version are probably making good point, but for the extra cost i cant justify, especially as i run at a "normal" screen resolution.

i will consider the options and go shopping later tonight. i usually find that a couple of drinks softens the wallet. knowing past performance i will probably sink a few too many and get me a pair of ultras
