Build me a new rig!

Thread Starter
Hi, my dad needs a new rig, he has a budget of £200 ($400). He already has speakers, monitor, mouse, keyboard and HDD. It doesn't need a GFX card. I'd like C2D for upgradability. Thanks!

Intel E2140 - 52.23 GBP
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 - 58 GBP
2gb DDR2-667 corsair - 44.10 GBP
Case+400W psu - 42.83 GBP

Total: 197.16 GBP

the PSU is more than enough at 400w, it's not like you'll be running a quad and an 8800GTX with it. had a 400W FSP sparkle, and it ran the system in my sig smoothly, even overclocked!!
and there you have it...
Just add shipping. I took the prices AFTER tax to avoid big surprises. Altogether shipping will probably be around 20-30 GBP

I only recommend two power supplies:

Fortron which has great bang per buck...

and PC Power and Cooling. No bang per buck there, just lots of bang and lots of bucks.

Ty, + rep for both of you. My dad won't mind if its a bit over £200, though, so I'd quite like an E6*** and a sound card. He doesn't mind buying second hand. Plus, you should never use the PSU included in a case. Any more advice from anyone?

yea the e4300 is a great overclocker or even go with e214/60 if you wanna save cash because they both get to 3ghz regularly
