Point taken.
But I reckon Their must be cooler coolers.
I bet Thats (what they tested) not the best thermal take has to offer.

I wonder how a Tunic tower would fair up against it...

a tunic tower is better in most cases. the thermalright 120 extreme is the best, but costs the double of a GeminII.

Better than the Tunic!?

I always thought that right now the Tunic PWns all.

guess its the price ratio then.

no. the tunic does not PWN all (anymore?)
but better than the tunic means t120e AKA 70 bucks. vs 50 for tunic (3-4C higher) or the GeminII @ 30bucks with 4-7C Higher than the T120e.
all in all, The GeminII is the best bang for the buck, and can beat the tuniq in some setups.

for example, due to its design, i can easily put 2 120mms on the sidepanel and duct them to the geminII. this pushes more air trough the fins, resulting in lower temps obviously. this is nearly impossible with tower-style coolers like the other 2 mentioned. it'll work with a BT though.

Nice Idea there.

Thats actually a facinating Idea lol.

But tell you what I've noticed?

sometime if the Push on the fan(s) is to high by other fans (fans Y lets call them), fan x can actually lows down.

It messes with the momentum of the fans, and slows them down.
Thats only in extreme cases anyway - and if fan(s) are directly against fans X.

Pretty sure your Idea is a winner with that setup though

you mean the GeminII fans on the casepanel will lose some of their power due to other intakes? thats why im trying to keep a little negative pressure in the case.
Well no. OR. lets be clear.

The other OCer there was suggesting (assuming you know how the Geminii fan looks that one could add 2 fans on the side panel, pushing air into the case - and in addition, make some sort of a duct - to direct the air directly unto the fans of the Geminii.

What I was saying is that doing so may actually detract from the momentum of the blades (in my experience) and end up defeating the purpose.

so, if thats what you were asking - YES ^_^

ah. but i wont be putting any fans onto the geminII itself. that defeats the purpose of channeling all air onto the heatsink.
meh :\\
not having the 2 fans directly unto the geminii is a bad Idea!

The blow hole idea could work I'd say....

but they would need to be under a certain CFM to NOT be counter effective.
