as i said, the fans will be mounted on the outside of the casepanel (at least i think i mentioned it...)

i wish i had your fans, but i'll stick to the Thunderblades after all. i would have to pay almost €40 for 2 of them.

You're going to put a lot of work into that duct and see no real benefit. Please prove me wrong with good results.

My current experience with this cooler is that it doesn't handle heavy voltages very well. I think it's another case of a cooler company tuning the heatpipes to work at too low a temperature/thermal input.

the heatpipes shouldve been dual ones, and maybe copper fins. though the last one would drive up the cost.
i'll see what it does with the duct before actually modding my case, but i suspect a few degrees better in any case (and it adds some bragging rights).

yah i think it has to pass some more testing, but at a moderate o/c should do nicely,im not into big o/c's,its newer and i thought what the hell, price isnt bad if you have extra fans lieing around like i do

ahh, I see.

yes - nice job with the MSP illustration .

I was thinking differently though - what I was speaking about was having 2 outside (where yours are in that Diagram) - A DUCT - then the ORIGINAL 2 fans, Right on the Gemini, where they are normally..
Understand? (4 fans in total). - So yeah, I said what I said about the first fans being counter-productive in that context.

your Idea may work.

But here's what the real matter is
There are 2 factors that need to be weighed against each other.
1. Chill factor/ Air(wind as it is called) speed/ CFM.

2.Cooler Air coming from somewhere OUTSIDE of the warm case.

The real question is - will the cooler air you're getting, compensate for the fact that by having the fans furthur from the heatsink - the AIR going over it will be doing so a TAD slower, AND, because of that, (as a result) the air will be a measure warmer...

Here's something to bear in mind. the faster air is moving through the atmosphere - the cooler it gets. So, the faster the air is moving over the heatsink, the cooler it will be, and the more watts of heat the HS will loose - the cooler the heatsink.

So we have to hope that the fact that the air being moved FROM OUTSIDE of the case (and cooler than it would be if it were moving from within the proximity of the case) will outweigh the fact that it is slower (and we know how the speed affects the situation)..
