AMD 64 x2 5400+

Thread Starter
I got all my components coming tomorrow for my first custom build. I have never build my own pc or overclocked but have been programming for years and am very comfortable with hardware as well. I have an AMD 64 X2 5400 cpu but cant find any info on here about that specific CPU. Is it good for overclocking. Any one have experience with it or can point me in the right direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

thx

It depends what mobo you have but you can hit 3 Ghz with it with a little aftermarket cooling. Maybe with stock cooler. Fast chip though. You won't find a lot of info oon here because most of us have the 3600 x2 which is about 1\\3 the price of your chip but can O.C. just as high or higher.

Please fill in your system in the User CP tab at the top so we can help you out more. It should hit 3ghz with sufficient cooling, maybe higher.
