ok for the past month my computer's been in the basement and connected to the internet via wireless-g. before that it was connected directly to the cable modem. now when i moved the computer, obviously i expected a dop in speed, and the drop was acceptable. however, for the past week, my download speeds have been dropping to below DIAL-UP speeds, and my internet connection comes and goes. mostly goes. i'm still getting a good signal to the router, i've checked, double-checked, and triple-checked all my settings, eliminated all the spyware from my system, but still no joy. anyone have any ideas?

Maybe someone else is hacking your wifi.
Maybe someone else is on cable near you using bandwidth.
Maybe you need an amplifier and better antenna.

Turn off any security you have and see if that helps. You may also try resetting your router; or try a different channel.
