Just overclocked...

Thread Starter
Just overclocked for the first time after a little studing and just getting everything right in bios.
I got the ram and CPU set as unlinked. My FSB is 375 and even though i set my ram to 800, it resets itself to 760ish(so im guessing its at 1:1).
Right now my CPU is set at 2.63ghz and its 54c while running orthos.

I know its getting hot, I will eventually get a liquid cooling system.
However, 375fsb is the highest it will let me go. I really wanted to get to 3ghz( i no I cant now because of temperature) But why does it do this? Set the FSB anything higher then 375 and it wont boot. What causes this?

Also, in my bios(Gigabyte DS4) There is no option for ram timing. someone told me to set it at 4-4-4-12 1t but the only ram options i have are to up the voltage......

You`ll probably need to feed the chip more voltage.

CPU, vCore in yoru BIOS it should be called. Don't raise it over 1.5 volts or if your temp reaches over 60 degrees celcius on load.

i found setting all my voltages myself rather than leaving them at auto and setting the ram timings myself did the trick when i couldnt work out how to push my fsb over a measly 370

EDIT->You should try looking into setting ur ram timings steady but at least you have quality ram... just fix ur voltages
