IE7 vs FF2.0

Thread Starter
Well, I had been using FF2.0 for quite some time with Windows XP (I couldn't use IE7, I won't say why, but I couldn't )

I had always though IE7 was superior, having used it on my dads computer. It just seemed faster and more stable.

However, since I splurged and purchased Vista Ultimate I have found that I prefer FF2.0. IE7 is nice, but it lacks some small features that I can't live without.

1. Spell checker - I am a horrible speller. Although the database in FF2.0 seems pretty lousy, it can be fixed after a few weeks of adding things to the dictionary.

2. Adblocker - What more can I say?

3. Saved sessions / restore after crash. Great feature for when the browser crashes or you need to restart for a update / install.

If IE7 added a spell checker (possibly import the one from Office?), I might be hooked. But for now I am back on FF2.0 and I am enjoying it. It seems to have a smaller footprint as well (although it may take a little longer to load).

Just sharing my thoughts on the two.

FF ftw, always

As long as FF treats me well I don't think I will change, I cant think of something a browser could realistically do that would make me switch.

That's pretty much exactly the reason that I started using FF. I "couldn't" use IE7 and had to use FF as a temporary solution.

I've never gone back. The plugins that I use and love are:

1. Adblock Plus
2. ForecastFox (little weather icons in the bottom right corner, very handy)
3. FasterFox (faster browsing)
4. TorButton (toggles Tor Vidalia on/off for safe browsing when needed)
5. Download Status Bar (replaces the pop-up box with a temporary bar)

I use:

1. FasterFox
2. Locationbar^2 - Bolds the domain to decode crazy URLs
3. New Tab Homepage - Makes a new tab load your homepage
4. Save Session - Allows you to save your FF session for later use.
5. Spilt Browser - Allow you to show 2+ tabs in one window
6. Ad Block Plus
7. Aging Tabs - Makes the tab you are viewing blue and the others fade
8. Download status bar
9. Verisign EV GreenBar - Like IE7, makes the URL bar green if the website is secure

That sounds pretty sweet. I'm going to check that out!

Man you're going all out with those addons, LOL. It's pretty addicting.

I installed it but the bar still goes yellow (stock). What did I do wrong... ?
