Yep, that was the one I really tried on, the dfi I jsut figured it was the p965 chipset so I was like ok whatever. On this guy I figured that I had some setting that was off but I tried everything besides kicking it (may have tried that once or twice) and it was still limited.
Its like the 4300 was for me at 400fsb, the 6600 boots perfect without any issues and totally stable at 540, 542 boots to windows if I am lucky and 545 will crash windows all most instantly if I even make it there.
I tried 550 and 555 but it wouldnt post even into the bios load screen usually. Its definatly the cpu, heard the same thing about similer cpus infact all different types. Its just people dont realize the fsb limitation of a cpu till they start using some good fsb ocing mobo's. Ahh well what can you do.
It performs rock solid at 500x8 though which is about right for this chip. Any higher and I gotta start ramping voltage to high for the gains.
