Settle for the 8800GTS or spring for the 8800GTX? - Page 2

hmmm, it seems like the GTX will pretty much insure me for years to come, and thats the main thing im looking for

its all good and everything that it will be able to max out settings for pretty much all current games, but i want something that will be able to at least stay fairly competitive in the future

If you are going to buy an 8800 I would just get the GTX. If you aren't going to buy the GTX I am going to agree with D3DAiM and say you should just get a X1950XT or 7950GT or 7900GS.

If you are going to spend more than 350 just get the GTX.

Edit: Also you can save a little money by taking off one of those 2 cases you have listed

Not for 'years to come'. Nothing will

I disagree with Silviastud here... the 8800GTS 640MB is a pretty darn powerful card, and I wonder if the extra $150 is worth it... Ok, I am lucky here with a card that overclocks like nuts (675 Core/2240 mem)...
