Aurora 800W Super Flower (cableless)

Aurora PSU's may not be as well known as some brands, but this PSU truly rocks if points are awarded based on finish & presentation.

I unwrapped & installed an Aurora 800W Super Flower (cableless) PSU yesterday & http://www.super-flower.com.tw/produ..._subcat_id=143 I was so impressed I thought I'd make a thread about it.

The mirror finish & supplied cables is exceptional in my opinion. The PSU comes with more than half a dozen cables. All cables are braided & are clearly marked on the ends (eg PCI-Ex, SATA, etc). Each connection has a special 'squeeze-type' release mechanism that makes plugging & unplugging the cables childs play (no risk of damaging components or cables here).

The PSU itself is 'cableless' meaning the PSU comes with no cables attached. You select which cables you want to use. Each cable screws into the PSU by simply removing the rubber cover for the required power outlet (again all clearly marked with pictures on the unit, & the cables can only plug in one way). If you decide later you dont need an outlet you simply unscrew & remove the cable then replace its rubber cover. The PSU is finished off with a nice blue LED fan on the underside of the case.

This PSU replaced a Thermaltake 450W, which in itself I thought was nice in itself, in its design & finish. The Aurora however leaves it in the dust...

I cant recommend this PSU highly enough & it has an edge on its competitors for price (I paid $225AUS).

I am assuming by "cable-less" you mean, modular. Right? Also, I do not believe that anything above 600 watts is needed for any rig of these days. But if its good for you, then thats great.

If you mean does one cable plug into or run off another, then no.

The unit comes with absolutely NO cables already attached. Each cable is connected to the base unit as required.

As for the power rating, I am looking at running 2 x 8800 GTX's, which in themselves can use 400W.
