you level up by sleeping in a bed, make sure its not someone elses bed, Inns are a good spot to do it. Otherwise a bedroll where the icon isnt red. Also I dont know if you can store your gear anywhere but for somereason I think if you drop it somewhere they dont disapper lol, not sure though.

Well, one thing you can do is get the horse Shadowmere. You get him by doing the thieves guild quests. He's an invincible horse, if he gets all the way down on health, he goes unconscious but comes back again very soon.

What you do is beat on him until he falls down, go to him quickly and press use like you would any chest or whatever (while he's unconscious), then you can put whatever you want on him and he'll carry it. I tried it and it works, and as far as I heard, you can put as much on him as you like.

I think things you just leave on the ground will eventually disappear, that's what I heard anyway. The Shadowmere trick is good cause you can keep it with you. I think the only other thing you can do is leave your stuff in chests somewhere. Or actually, I also heard if you can get onto a roof somewhere, and leave your stuff up there, it won't disappear. Didn't try that though, only so much you can fit on a roof before things get crowded .

You can buy a house and put your stuff in one of the chests in there. Also a bed in there to sleep in as well.

The cheapest one is 2000 gold I think at the Imperial Waterfront.

I'm sure there's a mod out there that gives you a sweet domicile with mannequins to display armor on, shelves to store weapons, etc.

I've only played morrowind, but I'm sure someone has adapted similar "Your house" mods.
