FINALLY 3.4 GHZ overclock ! :)

Thread Starter
I couldn't believe it everyone kept saying that amd's are not overclockable or very very little, well here is the proof from 2.8 to 3.4. What i did is lowering memory clock and raised the CPU voltage after 3.37ghz was unstable.
And that finally enabled me to successfully go to the 3.4 GHZ range..
Run it for 2 hours today, plus CPU Burn-in for 30 min... The temps are 39 to 40 idle and on load in the 47C range. This is good 5C over stock cycle temps..
Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions this was my goal.

That's really good! You might however set your HTT to 4 so you get your HT link under 1000mhz

AM2s seem to like the 1200ish range!
Do check stability with Orthos.
Sweet OC indeed

I have had my HT as high as 11xxMhz before. Ht links seem to be remarkably rugged on the x2 5xxx+ series. By the way the 5600+ overclocked is superior to the 6000+ overclocked. So you now have the most powerful Athlon X2 CPU. Please show me benchmarks.

OKey here is another attempt trying to bring it to 3.5ghz
First i left it at 3.4 which was the bios overclock, and the rest was done inside windows... Am i being to greedy or what ??
All that has happened is the temps raised by ~ 1C, however i was listening to music and the sound every 5 min had a distortion for a sec, however might be the song i need to lower the over clock and re listen to it again..
