Socket 939 AMD 3700+ OC

Thread Starter 
A friend of mine recently gave me this 3700+ from his old computer tht he didint need. The wierd thing is that when i go to BIOS there is no option for changing multipliers and fsb. The BIOS is phoneix tech 3.09. Where can i find those settings? Thank you

How long have you had that motherboard? The BIOS is a function of the motherboard, not the CPU.

Yeah forgot to say, the mobo in my sig. This is my first CPU OC i only oced graphic cards till now.

if the options aren't in your BIOS it's nothing to do with the CPU, it's just you've got a crappy mobo.

Did it come with a Compaq by any chance?

A friend gave me the mobo when i was building the computer i think he got it from a dell build, anyways if i change mobo i got to buy memory, cpu and all that crap again that cost over 350$ i dont have that much money to spend.. Any way i can OC other than bios?

There are software OCing programs, but those are no where near as good as OCing from the BIOS. If you are serious about getting better clocks from that chip, you should get a OCable mobo.
