LOL yeah if you believe its worth the money over the 8800GTS, IMO its not. the q6600 is a great processor, and the only reason to get a quad IMO is for better multi-threaded performance in games. personally, ill be keeping my 6400 because processors nowadays mean so much less than the graphics you have. i say, OVERCLOCK, because i dont want to spend more money.

I would like to add that you'd most likely want separate circuit for the Q6600 if you're going to be getting to ~3.5GHz. Sorry but I forgot to mention that.

It looks good so far, the pump and block are good for the job the rest isn't as important except the rad which is a nice one. If thats one circuit just for the Q6600 then you'll be hitting e6600 average overclocks.

Q4.. You would have to clock that 6600 to 4ghz+ to come close to the processing power of the Q4.

561.00 right now online for the Q6600

Not bad, considering I paid 562.00 for my e6700 last year.

E6600
Pros:
- Cooler, and thus OC higher.
- Cheaper.

Cons:
- "Only" 2 cores.

Q6600
Pros:
- Future proof, should shine in Alan Wake and Crysis.
-Very good if you plan on folding and seriously multi-tasking.

Cons:
- Hotter running, thus OC comparably worse.
- More expensive.
- Very few games multi-threaded, and major ones are a while off yet.

IMO, get the E6600 and reap the benefits now.

i'd wait a year before getting a quad. a lot of applications still don't take proper advantage of dual let alone quad.

price will be significantly more favourable next year too. quad's are for ePenii purveyors atm
