Battlefield 2142 crashes after 5-7 minutes of gameplay (computer can't recover).... - Page 2

No no ignore all that advice for right now. You can't connect to BF2142 right now because the servers are all down. Even I can't even select my soldier without the game crashing. You should be able to connect offline though.

Edit: Oh it has been going on for some time... Well nothing will help you at this moment until the server is fixed.

Also, for the guy who asked about the driver issues, I have tried 7.5 and 7.4 and they both screw up. I am not new to this game, I have only been playing this game for the past year now and have never had a problem until now.

Check EA's Battlefield 2142 website forum and you will see other with same problem as me.

Please help
Did you recently buy a router? I bought a Linksys and had this VERY issue. I returned it and bought a D-Link...problem solved.

Yes we did recently get a new router through Road Runner but I have played the game many times with it with out having any problems. I think what I need to do is let EA get out of their ultra ego shell and actually help those that are having problems. I say this because they haven't responded to any of the help questions on online forums at the BF2142 website. The guy named Earl that I talked to from EA didn't even know about the problem yet the problem has been going on for two weeks know....uhhhhhh, they need to get with the program or find something better to program besides video games if they can't fix their own problems.

Time to re-open this thread because I am still having problems running this game even though I am able to play any other game out there to date without a hitch. It is very frustrating because I am able to run the game very well without any problems yet I am still getting random crashes that my computer can't recover from unless I do a complete hard reboot.

I am running ATI catalyst AI in advanced mode and have run it in standard mode before without any problems and now this is happening again even after I played the game for two hours the other night. If anyone has any new suggestions with reguards to helping my solve this problem please speak up....please. Until EA comes out with a new patch that works and doesn't mess up on certain computers, like mine, I am going to revert back to the RTS games like Company of Heroes and the demo of WIC. I just hope I can get BF2142 fixed soon.
