There is a reason that more than 2/3 of the Fortune 500 companies use Symantec Corporate. It's a good piece of code. Have you ever used it? No? Hmmmmm

I use NOD32 on all of my computers, have not once had a virus. It's caught quite a few sneaky ones for me as well, I put a lot of trust in NOD.

I can tell that people are just judging SAV because they think its a "norton" Antivirus variant.....

If any of them tried it - they'd understand why it pwns Kapersky...

I'm with you. I've been using Norton since my Pentium III till now. It's just what I use. I'm used to it's functionalities and it works fine for me. A plethora of people here favor and repeatedly nominate NOD32 and the other one. I'm going to give it a try and see how it performs.

::EDIT::
Everyone who posts their comments and/or opinions should also state what have they used in the past. If they have had negative experiences with whatever client (for example, Norton), then fine. But I'm sure we don't want people to just come here and tell others don't use [AV client] because they "read" something about it.

I would give that credit to marketing.

Just like AOL, Dell, HP, Absolute, Bud Light... Popularity rarely has anything to do with quality.

Edit: NOD32 FTW!

Thread Starter
I have the Symnatec Corporate Client on my XP box...and have never had any problems with it.

I started this thread because I have had the desire to try something different on my Vista box.

I have tried Kaspersky 7.0119, but find it to be way too much of a resource pig in Vista...perhaps this is fixed in the final release .0123.

Will try NOD32 next...

For those of you who have never used Symantec Corp Client...it is a very lite AV

omg! symantec's using a whopping 14MB of ram!?!?!?! why is it such a resource hog?!!?

You have Ram... programs are going to use it...

Why do people get upset when a program uses their resources? i can understand when things like iTunes are using 800MB of ram... but symantec AV has a VERY small system footprint... even smaller if you run an AV server and run the client on the machine...
